β€œMy heart is full of compassion as I am recognized with the Promising Alumni Award from ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ. My time at Camosun were the stepping stones into my fulfilled career, as it provided me with the knowledge and skills, more importantly it sparked my passion to continue making positive differences in the lives of children,” says Shae-Lynn.

After graduating from ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ with her Community, Family and Child Studies diploma, Shae-Lynn went on to complete her degree at the University of Victoria. She dedicated her time to the Military Family Resource Centre and the Sooke School District, where she worked with children who required additional support and guidance in their educational journeys.

β€œCongratulations Shae-Lynn on the commitment you have shown to your community," says Lane Trotter, president of ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ. β€œWe are immensely proud of the direction you have taken your Camosun education and know that you will continue to help the next generation thrive.”

Currently, Shae-Lynn runs her own private practice, helping children facing behavior challenges, fostering social connections, and building healthy relationships. Shae-Lynn's commitment to children's well-being extends beyond her professional endeavors, focusing on connecting families with essential resources and ensuring they receive the necessary support.

β€œTo all the current graduates of ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ, I hope you all emplace the opportunities that come your way, stay committed to your passions, and always strive to make a positive impact,” she says. β€œRemember that your education at Camosun is just the beginning of a lifelong journey of learning and growth. Stay active in your professional development to stay present in your generational practice and more importantly fill your own cup before filling anyone else’s, as that is what makes the strongest helping professional!”

The annual alumni awards highlight the outstanding achievements of individuals who exemplify Camosun's commitment to excellence and service, and who continue to make significant contributions in their fields.
