ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ has a history of breaking down barriers to education for students. That is why it is important for the college to support Black Excellence Day.
Black Excellence Day takes place on Jan. 15 each year, or the preceding Friday if it falls on a weekend or holiday. The date was selected as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was born on Jan. 15, 1929.
ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ acknowledges the ongoing civil rights struggle of Black and racialized Canadians. Black Excellence Day is an opportunity for us all to stand in solidarity.
The College celebrates the diversity of its students and employees and sees diversity as a strength, recognizing its role in eliminating discrimination and fostering a barrier-free learning and working environment. To address the continued work needed to foster an equitable community, the college its Equity, Diversity and Inclusion policy.
Some upcoming recommended learning webinars for employees include the Canadian Centre for Diversity and Inclusion webinarsΒ Β ] on Feb. 3, from 10-11am, and the webinarΒ . on Feb. 17, from 10-11am. Both webinars are free to Camosun employees when they register using their Camosun email address.
