A five-year partnership agreement between Camosun and Miriam was signed by the presidents of both colleges during a virtual ceremony on Sept. 27 PST / Sept. 28 PHST.

β€œThe agreement between Camosun and Miriam College opens the doors to enriching learning opportunities for students from the Philippines,” says Ambassador Laura Quiambao-Del Rosario, president of Miriam College. β€œThe movement of students as well as ideas and the advancement of knowledge is critical given the speed of how the world around us is changing and the global challenges we all face. The agreement is a step towards even greater things.”

The first stage of the partnership will allow graduates from Miriam College to come to Camosun for post-degree diploma studies and other programs, providing international and intercultural learning opportunities. The second stage will establish a reciprocal student exchange program where tuition is waived for students to attend one or two semesters of study at the partner’s college.

β€œThis is an exciting partnership for Camosun,” says Dr. Lane Trotter, president of ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ. β€œReaching out to the rest of the world is important. Our strong connection with Miriam College allows us to build a strong, multi-national relationship. It will provide incredible opportunities for students from both colleges in the years ahead.”

The first students from Miriam College are expected in fall 2023.

In 2021-22, ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ had 1,700 international students from over 70 different countries making it one of the most internationally diverse colleges in Canada.
