A lifelong passion for sports, healthy communities, and connecting people through knowledge has led Kai to a career in health education. Her areas of expertise include health literacy; comprehensive school health; behavioural theory; community population health; exercise psychology; project management; and advanced mixed-methods research.
She has enjoyed working as a post-secondary educator for over 15 years and continues to take great joy in the shared learning process with students of all levels. She is endlessly fascinated by the connections between the mind and the body β our movement determines how optimally our mind can function and the activity of the mind determines how our bodies function. She structures her work around respect for all people, applied learning opportunities and the belief that the true power of knowledge is our ability to share it.
Outside of Camosun teaching time, Kai loves volleyball, mountain biking, baking, and spending time with her two kiddos and husband.
