From Alberta, I received my BA in English from U of Lethbridge/West Bretton College (UK). Since 1997, I have taught English at ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ, and served as Chair from 2007-2013. Completing my MA and PhD at UVic, I specialize in narratology, feminist psychoanalytic literary theory, and 18th century/modernist writing. My thesis,Β Disembodied Voices in James Joyce's Ulysses, and dissertation,Β Relational Narrative Desire: Intersubjectivity and Transsubjectivity in Novels of H.D. and Virginia Woolf,Β present narratological models for analysing modernist, voice-centred novels. I was awarded the UVic Graduate Teacher Award of Excellence and a UVic Graduate Teaching Fellowship. I have taught at Red Deer College, Medicine Hat College, and UVic.Β  I am an ISW facilitator, B.C. Chair Academy Leader, a group fitness instructor, and a mother. Maureen is currently working half-time as the English Placement Counsellor at the ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ Assessment Centre on the Lansdowne campus.
